Coaching
Club Training Sessions
Montrose Triathlon Club offers regular swim, bike and run sessions throughout the year, with training suitable for a range of abilities. Whether you’re new to triathlon or an experienced racer, our sessions are a great way to develop your skills, fitness and confidence while training with fellow club members.
Swimming
We generally hold a coached swim session on Monday evenings at 7pm at Montrose Sports Centre. Sessions focus on developing swimming technique, fitness and endurance and are suitable for a range of abilities.
To attend our pool sessions, members should be able to swim 50m of front crawl.
During the warmer summer months, we also offer coached open water swimming sessions.
Cycling
From April to September, we regularly organise fortnightly led, no-drop group rides, generally on a Tuesday evening. Locations, routes and exact timings vary throughout the year.
During the winter months, from October to March, we move indoors for virtual group rides, allowing members to cycle from home or at the gym while chatting with fellow club members via their headsets.
Running
From April to September, we regularly organise fortnightly coached running sessions at a variety of locations. Sessions may include intervals, hill repeats, tempo running, endurance work or other structured training.
During the winter months, from October to March, we typically organise monthly ‘On Tour’ weekend social runs, exploring different locations throughout Angus and Aberdeenshire. Some runs finish with a well-earned cuppy afterwards!
Strength and Conditioning
During the winter months, we partner with a local gym to offer HYROX-style strength and conditioning workouts, helping members build strength and fitness during the colder months.
